ESL Teams Set Off In The FA Vase

Eleven ESL teams were drawn in the Buildbase FA Vase 1st Qualifying Round with two all-ESL ties being thrown up as Clapton entertain Woodford Town, while Walthamstow host Takeley. Four ESL teams were handed home draws as St. Margaretsbury, Southend Manor, Stansted and Stanway Rovers all came out of the hat first and were paired against Hadleigh United, Ipswich Wanderers, Brantham Athletic and White Ensign respectively. Leyton Athletic have to travel to Stotfold, Ilford likewise go on their travels as they were drawn away to Haverhill Rovers. The other ESL side to enter the fray at this opening qualifying round is Tower Hamlets who have to face an away tie with Langford.

Seven ESL teams enter the Vase at the 2nd Qualifying Round stage while a potential nine other ESL teams could also be playing in that round if they come through their 1st Qualifying Round encounters. Should Stansted overcome Brantham Athletic then they set up an all-ESL tie against either Walthamstow or Takeley. Leyton Athletic can set-up a 2nd Qualifying Round tie against fellow ESL members West Essex if they overcome Stotfold. Saffron Walden Town will start their Vase campaign with a home tie against Eastern Senior League opposition – it is just down to May & Baker E.C. and Burnham Ramblers to sort out which of them will provide it. Barkingside were also handed a home tie in the 2nd Qualifying Round against Wodson Park, Hoddesdon Town face FC Clacton, while three other ESL teams that come in at the final qualifying round stage have to go on the road. Sawbridgeworth Town travel to Coggeshall United, Enfield 1893 visit Hadley, while Sporting Bengal United start off in the 2nd Qualifying Round with an away tie with either Enfield Borough or Halstead Town.

Redbridge have been given an exception until the 1st Round. As for Hullbridge Sports their reward for reaching the 4th Round last season is an exemption into the 2nd Round.
