Lakeside Speedway – COOK LOOKING FORWARD TO VISIT FROM TIGERS

The latest from the Lakeside Speedway Press Office…

LAKESIDE promoter Jon Cook is looking forward to getting his side back on home shale when reigning Champions Sheffield come to town on Friday (8pm).

After a run of eight straight wins in all competitions, the Hammers have fallen to consecutive away defeats at strongly fancied Glasgow and Peterborough.

But Cook is seeking home comforts this week as they aim to maintain their 100 per cent record at the Arena-Essex Raceway.

“It will be good to get another home meeting in after a slightly longer enforced break due to England’s progression in the Football World Cup,” Cook said.

“The Peterborough and Glasgow away meetings were never going to be easy but now we have to show our character by getting back to winning ways in front of our own supporters on Friday.

“Again we’ll need everybody contributing though because Sheffield are another solid side and it should be an entertaining fixture.”
