London Junior Cup

FC Hamlets lifted the London Junior Cup after overcoming Goldfingers in the Final. Hamlets had to come back from a goal down but did so in some style as a Charlie Heatly brace plus goals from Ashley King and Ishmael Carter ensured that FC Hamlets went on to lift trophy they had won previously in 2015/16.

Premier Division

Catholic United eked out a slender 1-0 win over leaders Frenford which makes things very interesting at the top. Frenford despite the setback lead the pack – but Catholic United now sit 3rd, ten points behind with seven games left to play, whereas Frenford have only one. It means that Catholic United are able to make a late season smash and grab for the title. It was a game that Frenford needed to win and they now have a nervous end to the season as they haven’t wrapped up the Title for themselves.  A fine team performance saw Rayleigh Town capture an important win at Kelvedon Hatch that consigns Basildon Town to relegation. George Vile opened the scoring with a 25 yard screamer in the 25th minute and five minutes later the lead was doubled with an Arron Pallett header. Leigh Ramblers picked up a 2-1 away win at Manford Way courtesy of goals from Jack O’Connor and Luke Reed. White Ensign also won on the road after a Liam Sewell brace helped gun down May & Baker E.C. 2-0. Abraham Adejokun put his name on the Bishop’s Stortford Swifts score sheet but a Charlie Liddiard brace plus goals from Danny Gillard and Robert Whitnell saw 4th-placed Harold Wood Athletic secure a 4-1 away win.

Division One

Galleywood made it eight games unbeaten after a 3-1 win over Hutton and that championship winning form has catapulted them away from the relegation zone and up to 9th. Sam Donn, Sean Landers and Jared Cousins were the Galleywood marksmen with Chris Rowlatt notching for Hutton.  Hutton remain 3rd after this result. Runwell Sports picked up their second win of the campaign as the already relegated club beat Snaresbrook 2-1. Arron Rix and Destiny Onuah scored the goals with Snaresbrook replying via Josh Woodcock. Newbury Forest and Old Chelmsfordians shared a point from a 2-2 draw which keeps both clubs just above the drop zone with a one point advantage over Harold Hill who occupy the final relegation place still up for grabs for any team unfortunate enough to grasp it. Adam Hunt and Jason Reynolds-Blanche scored the Newbury Forest goals who now sit 10th, one place above Old Chelmsfordians. Ed Gould and Tom Judge were the Old Southendian scorers in a 2-1 win over Sungate who scored through Conor Maher.

Division Two

Relegation-threatened Upminster made a fruitless trip to Benfleet who won the encounter 4-1. Rob Lacy, Ben Foord, Sam Dulieu and Brad Camm scored a goal apiece with James Lakey providing the Upminster consolation. Jack Wiley came off the subs bench and notched two go the goals in Ramsden Scotia’s 5-1 away win at Ongar Town. Kurt King, Jamie Auvache and Antony Driscoll were the other scorers which keeps Ramsden still in the promotion hunt as we come to the end of the season. Ross Carpenter supplied the Ongar goal.

Division Three

Frenford Res went on a goal spree as they gunned down Leytonstone United 13-1. Martin Mixture scored the Old Chelmsfordians Res. goal in a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Roydon.
