1985 – Wham! became the first Western pop group to perform in China during an historic 10-day visit. It began with a concert at the Peoples’ Gymnasium in Beijing in front of 12,000 people. They also played a concert in front of 5,000 in Canton.
1988 – Alice Cooper almost died on stage when one of the props, the Gallows, malfunctioned. A safety rope broke during the stunt where he pretended to hang himself.
