Prokit UK Essex Olympian League – Saturday 31st March Preview

Prokit UK Essex Olympian League

Leaders Frenford look to extend their eight point lead over May & Baker E.C. when they entertain Bishop’s Stortford Swifts on Saturday. On a winning run of five, the Redbridge-based club are homing in on their third Premier Division title and they face a side on a run going in the opposite direction as Swifts have lost their last four going into this one.

May & Baker E.C. do have two games in hand over Frenford but need to win both of those and still require Raeford to drop points during the run-in. A win over Springfield is needed to keep them on Frenford’s tails. Springfield sit one place below and having won the corresponding fixture 4-1 will be no slouches and will offer May & Baker very stiff opposition.

Basildon Town have four games left to save their Premier Division status. They can reach a total of nineteen points if they win all of those games and having beaten Bishop’s Stortford Swifts last weekend means they go into the vital home game against White Ensign with something to build on.

Canning Town could, as it stands at the moment, be caught by Basildon Town if they fail to post any more points. A point or more from their home game against Leigh Ramblers would move them beyond Basildon’s safety mark. Rayleigh Town would move themselves a step closer to safety if they can garner a point or more from their home engagement with Kelvedon Hatch.
