FC Romania 1 Redbridge 2

The Motormen came from behind to win a huge top of the table clash at Theobalds Lane against FC Romania, meaning they leapfrogged their opponents into second spot and went two points clear of them as well as go level on points with leaders Great Wakering Rovers.  The hosts, who hadn’t lost in the league since September, looked like they could be on for another win when they went ahead through a Felix Lupu goal; however the Motormen showed character to turn this one around, and goals from Brian Moses and Calvin Poku making sure they took a terrific win and end FC Romania’s long unbeaten run.

Ilford 1 Sporting Bengal United 2

Sporting Bengal played their first game in a month and it was a very welcome return to action for them as they defeated Ilford at Cricklefields to gain a huge three points as they continue their battle to stay above the bottom four.  The hosts did everything they could to get the game on after snow hit much of the region and they must be commended for their efforts as the game went ahead with no issues.  But they weren’t rewarded for their efforts as a brace of headers from Eaia Embalo gave the visitors the win which now sees them go 14th and five points above the bottom four, whilst The Foxes drop to 8th on goal difference.

Postponed games on Saturday:-

Burnham Ramblers vs Basildon United

Enfield 1893 vs Southend Manor

Hackney Wick vs West Essex

Hullbridge Sports vs Takeley

Sawbridgeworth Town vs Clapton (match now to be played Tuesday 20th March)
