Lakeside Speedway – ONE WEEK UNTIL TAPES UP!

The latest from the Lakeside Speedway Press Office…

WITH just one week to go until tapes up for the 2018 season, Lakeside Hammers Co-Promoter Jon Cook is looking forward to seeing competitive action back at the Arena Essex Raceway with the Hammers season opener, the Rico Spring Classic individual, taking place next Friday, 23rd March (8pm).

Cook commented: “We’re all looking forward to seeing Friday night racing back at The Raceway after what seems like a long winter.

“Everyone involved with the club is excited at the potential of our new team in the Championship, whilst the Rico Spring Classic gives all of our boys a bit of competitive action ahead of the opening Shield Clashes against Peterborough and our old rivals the Ipswich Witches.

“As a club we’re all pulling together to make this a memorable season, both on and off track.
“The Hammers Community Programme has some great initiatives set for this season, including our Charity of the year the TLC appeal, we have our new Merchandising range with our Partners ImageOn, whilst the new Junior Hammers Trackside club has already received great feedback.
“On the track, some of the boys will be aiming to have a bit of track time next week, whilst a Press photoshoot will now take place on the Friday ahead of the #Rico Spring classic.”

There will be a photo opportunity (currently scheduled between 6.45pm and 7pm on the pits bend) for Hammers fans to get snaps of the team and favourite riders ahead of the #Rico Spring Classic whilst the Hagon Academy will be taking to the track with junior heats ahead of the main individual event.
