Between the Lines – 17/02/2018

Swansea took on Sheffield Wednesday for a place in the Quarter Finals of the FA Cup.

FA CUP ROUND 5

SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY 0

SWANSEA CITY 0

The match certainly didn’t live up to the hype…

In a game where the winner books theirself in the Quarter Finals, it was a draw 😴😂. So far in every round Swansea have drawn then won in the replay will the same occur in this replay? Sheffield Wednesday defender Prodl had a very Impressive performance making many crucial defensive clearances.

Tammy Abraham was unlucky not to win a penalty in the first half after a clear push. Swansea’s best chance came from defender Van Der Horrn as he had a strong header saved in the first half.

ESSEX AWAY DAYS

This is the first of my new weekly feature on Between the Lines. Essex Away Days is where we pick a random stadium in Essex and preview the football that is going on there!

THURROCK F.C. ~ SHIP LANE

This week we took a look at Thurrock F.C coached by Tony Gay. They play at a stadium called Ship Lane which holds 3,500 (524 seated), it is located in Aveley (east Essex).

Thurrock are playing Hendon this week in the Bostik Premier League. Thurrock are currently 13th in the league. Last time out Thurrock F.C lost to Harrow Borough due to two goals from Cumberbatch.

16 points from the play offs and 22 points from the drop. A mid-table finish looks like an likely outcome for Thurrock F.C a good season for a team who are new to the league as they won the Ryman League North play off last season.

ADDRESS & POSTCODE: Ship Ln, Aveley RM19 1YN

KEY MAN: Charlie Stimson (6 goals and 6 assists)

 PYEONGCHANG 2018
