The Division One leaders went in at the break 3-0 up and added to further goals in the second half to book their semi final berth. Old Southendian also pulled off a shock as they ended Manford Way’s interest with a 2-1 victory. Petrit Elbi scored twice for May & Baker E.C. but they found Waltham Abbey Res. a tough nut to crack and succumbed to the Essex Senior League Reserve Division leaders who went on to win the game 5-2. Catholic United also booked their semi final place after a 5-1 win over Shenfield AFC. Sam Lock scored the Shenfield goal but his side were brushed aside by a Catholic United side that have a score to settle after last season’s winning campaign then went sour.

Frenford closed the gap on leaders May & Baker E.C. to a solitary point after a 7-2 win over Basildon Town. Brad Foley and Nick Hughes both scored braces with Charlie Fairhead, Luke Woodward and Bradley Nobbs also scoring. The visitors remain bottom after this result and are looking doomed. Adam Brotherton and Joe Mayer scored the Springfield goals in a 2-1 win over Leigh Ramblers. However there were heroics from Springfield keeper Lewis Batchford who saved a first half penalty, although he was eventually beaten by Jack O’Connor. Liam Sewell and Brett Munyard scored twice apiece in White Ensign’s 4-2 victory over Harold Wood Athletic, who scored both their goals via Robert Whitnell. Kane Messenger scored twice, with Josh Gill and Darren Seymour also chipping in. May & Baker are six points behind Herongate but have two games in hand in which to make up that deficit. Ryan scored via Billy Atim and remain rooted to the bottom and in serious relegation danger after this latest result. Rochford Town remain in the relegation zone despite beating A1 Sports 2-1. However they are now only two points behind after they picked up all the three points in this relegation affair, with Steven Sharpe and Oliver Green scoring the important goals.
