Lisa joined us on the phone to chat about her life on the cruise ships and her music. We had two exclusive tracks, Music in my mind was based on the idea of Beethoven having his mind full of music. In Wasn’t it love Lisa sung of the emotional situation of unrequited love. Both are original compositions and she amazed us in the studio by saying that she was at school, aged about twelve years, when she wrote Wasn’t it love. Since she last chatted to us, holiday makers on a number of cruise ships have had the joy of Lisa as part of the entertainments team. She is soon to fly to Sydney to join the Queen Mary 2 as part of the entertainment on a world cruise. She is not looking forward to the flight, but is anticipating an amazing birthday in Singapore. She talked about putting an album together, but with such a wide and varied catalogue, she was unclear as to whether the music chosen should be from one genre or should show the breadth of her music. Jonty and I felt that she should just mix it up, because it would all be of stunning quality.
We also had a feature on Elvis Presley and Cliff Richard, following requests from listeners. We played tracks from different time so their careers. We thanked regular listen Patrick for reminding us of the Australian band Savage Garden. We had the first play on the show for music by Newton Faulkner. I am sure we will feature him again.
