Between the Lines – 20/01/18

Today’s show started lively as Chelsea scored 2 goals in 6 minutes against Brighton!

PREMIER LEAGUE

Brighton & Hove Albion 0                (30,700 Att)

Chelsea 4

Hazard (3⚽️, 77⚽️)

Willian (6⚽️)

Moses (87⚽️)

This game started with a bang! As Eden Hazard scored in the 3rd minute to set Chelsea on the path to glory. Three minutes later Willian converted a brilliantly created team goal in arguably the goal of the match!

Brighton looked good to perhaps stage a comeback in this lunch time clash but brilliance from the Chelsea shot stopper Willy Cabellero stoped this from happening. The chance of the game from Brighton was most likely when Davy Propper’s header hit the crossbar. Around the 30th Brighton had a penalty shout as well, which was denied by Referee John Moss. In the aftermath of the pentaly being rejected Brightons Wing-back Schelotto was booked for his reaction towards the ref.

Hazard completed his brace in the 77th minute. This is a goal Brighton manager Chris Houghton will be mad about! The Brighton defender almost looked scared of the Belgium international as they kept backing off the winger as he approached the goal! To round off a great day for Chelsea FC Victor Moses made it 4 in the 87th minute.

So with this win for Chelsea they go above Liverpool into third, now only 3rd to Manchester United on goal difference.

EUROPEAN RUGBY CUP

Montpellier 14 – 23 Leinster

Glasgow 28 – 21 Exeter

For the first time in a while I added Rugby Union to the show agenda of sports. The winners of these games will be granted a place in the Quarter Finals of the European Rugby Cup.

Exeter late surged wasn’t enough to beat the mighty Glasgow as they lost by seven.

MUSIC
