Premier Division
Barkingside 2 Woodford Town (2017) 2
The points were shared at Cricklefield as Barkingside and Woodford Town shared four goals in this one. Matteus Santos and Roddy Lemba scored the Barkingside goals with Dion Lewis Kirwan and Jack Grosvenor notching for the Woods.  It means the hosts have four points from two league games this year and climb a place to 16th, whilst Woodford drop a place to 11th.

Basildon United 7 Hackney Wick 0
The Bees put last weekend’s disappointing draw behind them by smashing Wick for seven at the Hive. Marcus Bowers put the hosts ahead from the spot before the same man converted a second spot kick to double the Bees lead. And it was three before half time when Jack Adlington rounded the keeper and slotted home. Bowers missed another spot kick before Joe Burgess added a fourth with a screamer in off the bar and it was five when Luke Hornsley buried a rebound after another Bowers penalty was saved. Sam Marsh then added two more as the Bees put bottom side Wick to the sword.

Clapton 1 Stansted 5
The Airportmen ended a run of nine straight defeats with an emphatic win at the Old Spotted Dog against Clapton. The Tons took the lead from a Steve Sardinha penalty however the visitors levelled in spectacular fashion from  a Ryan Ramsey  free kick from twenty-five yards to send the sides in level at the break. The Tons then had a meltdown in the second period as the visitors ran away with it in the second period to record an incredible win. Julian Lloyd bagged a brace, with Jack Folan and Jack West also chipping in.

Enfield 1893 0 Sawbridgeworth Town 2
Two second half goals from The Robins make in seven points from nine in the new year. After a goalless first half the visitors took the lead via Arron Thomas two minutes into the second period before doubling this lead ten minutes later thanks to an Oliver Cleaver strike. Sawbridgeworth  climb a place to 13th, whilst the hosts remain second bottom.

FC Romania 2 Waltham Forest 1
FCR are just one point behind leaders Redbridge after victory over Forest at Theobalds Lane. The home side took the lead with a Adrian Balsanu curling effort after a one two and they doubled their lead when a deflected cross was helped in by the hosts, with Florin Pop finishing off. Forest did pull one back in the second half when Abiola Tanimowo rifled home after being set up by Medina, however just like midweek the hosts came away with a 2-1 win.

Great Wakering Rovers 6 Tower Hamlets 1
GWR hit six as both Billy Johnson and Nathan Dewberry scored  hat-tricks as they put in a clinical performance to thrash Tower Hamlets at Burroughs Park. The hosts took a seventh minute lead when Dewberry robbed keeper Stansbury before slotting home and it was two in the 16th minute when Dewberry grabbed another, slotting home after being played in by Nash. Just past the half hour mark Ross brought Hamlets back into the contest, converting past Hawes, however the hosts restored their two goal lead when Johnson curled home a free kick, and just before half time Rovers grabbed another through Johnson again,  to cap a super opening forty five minutes for the home side. And eight minutes into the second period it was five for the hosts when Johnson completed his hat-trick before it was six with twenty minutes remaining as Dewberry also completed his hat-trick, slotting home at the back post. Rovers remain in 5th  whilst Hamlets stay 7th.

Sporting Bengal United 1 Ilford 2
Ilford grabbed all three points after they edged past Sporting Bengal United at Mile End. James Peagram and Alex Paraskeva were on hand to score the Ilford goals that secured the points, although Codey Cameron’s goal for Sporting on the hour kept it interesting.  It means the Foxes stay in 9th whilst the hosts drop to 14th.

Takeley 9 Burnham Ramblers 0
Will Green and Carl Mullings both grabbed hat-tricks as Takeley put nine past a helpless Burnham Ramblers at Station Road. Mullings put the hosts ahead from the spot in the opening minute before Jason Todd doubled the hosts lead. Mitchell Das made it three before another Mullings strike saw the home side go into the break four goals to the good. Green then added two after the break before Mullings completed his hat-trick to make it seven. Todd then added his second for number eight,  before a late Green penalty completed the rout and means Takeley remain 4th. For Ramblers it’s been an awful start to 2018 and they are in 12th after this humiliation.

Wadham Lodge 2 Southend Manor 3
Manor ended a winless run of five games by defeating Wadham Lodge at Kitchener Road in Walthamstow. Daniel Emovon fired the hosts into a 12th minute lead but Manor replied in the 40th minute via Rhys Fatt. Nathan Joseph then scored in the 60th minute to restore Wadham’s lead. Manor however equalised ten minutes later via Hamid Zamani before snatching all the points with a Jamie Alexandrou winner. It means the Southchurch Park side are up to 10th whilst Lodge now drop to 17th.

West Essex 2 Hullbridge Sports 3
Hullbridge bounced back from last week’s Vase disappointment to defeat West Essex at Mayesbrook Park. The visitors led on ten minutes through Michael Salako tapping home a Luka Frankis cross, and it was two on the half hour mark when Salako added another, converting a Ashley Pibworth header back across goal. The hosts did manage to pull one back before half time though when Tom Macleod flicked home but with four minutes of the game left Frankis bundled home to give the visitors breathing space. The hosts pulled one back in stoppage time however Hullbridge  weren’t to be denied and took the three points, lifting then up another place to 19th. West Essex remain 8th despite this loss.
