A Sky High Shock!

On today’s show we heard about two incidents involving sky high costs.

First off came news from the USA where a woman was less than thrilled to receive an electricity bill for US$284Bn!

The good news is that she was given a year to settle the sum with the first minimum payment set at just under $30,000.

With all the cold weather there right now, her next bill might be higher still!

Fortunately it was all down to a computer error but she did ask her son to think about giving her a heart monitor for Christmas.

Meanwhile closer to home a man living in sheltered accommodation is facing a fine of £40,000!

So what did he do to attract this unwelcome financial penalty?

Well it seems that he became so impatient to get off a plane after an unexplained 30 minute hold up for the doors to be opened, that he decided to activate the emergency exit and leave via the wing!

He should try flying to JFK where due to the freezing temperature and heavy snow, some people have been left sitting on the tarmac for several hours!

At the time of his offence he had just 16p in his pocket and given that he lives in a hostel for those deemed at risk, it seems unlikely that the fine will be settled any time soon.

Oh dear!
