Friday Night Extra 5.1.17 That was 2017 & an appreciation of producer Rick Hall

We looked back at 2017 and some of the guests.  Also at the career from 1959 to 2017  of  legendary producer Rick Hall, who produced the “Muscle Shoals sound”.

J. Giles band – Freeze – remembering J. Giles

Tom Petty – The last DJ – a classic track from Tom who sold over 80 million albums, making him one of the biggest selling artists ever.

Steeley Dan – Reelin in the years & Rikki don’t loose that number – Remembering Walter Becker. They sold over 40 million albums.

Glen Campbell – Rhinestone Cowboy and Adios. Glen made history by winning 4 Grammy awards in 1967.

ECHO – No pain, no gain – for Chris who said her highlight of 2017 was a moment of madness in applying to run in the Brighton marathon in 2018.

Next week my studio guests are Pastor Symplice Usuku from the Congo and Past Ian Moore, pastoral assistant at Billericay Baptist church. Pastor Symplice has planted sixty five churches in the Congo. Pastor Ian has visited the Congo on many occasions. It promises to be an insightful and fascinating conversion. Join us then.
