Billericay Blog: Looking Forward To Christmas and the New Year

Last night we played Met Police in the league winning 3-0, Jake Robinson scored 2 more taking him to 35 goals for the season. With this win we went top of the Bostik Premier League on goal difference but with 4 games in hand, the team have also scored in 36 consecutive games.

Last Saturday we beat Havant & Waterlooville (National League South) in the FA Trophy 3-1, taking us into the last 32, Jake Robinson scored twice. We have now been drawn at home to Stourbridge on the 13th January 2018 in the 2nd Round of the FA Trophy.

We are in the Quarter Final of the Essex Cup and will play Harlow at home on the 8th January 2018, we are also in the Quarter Final of the Bostik League Cup, playing away to Wingate on the 16th January.

Work continues with a view to increasing attendances going into 2018, the clubs average league attendance is currently 1149, we are 3rd best supported team at home in the National League (South), Bostik Premier League, Evo Stik Premier League, Evo Stik South Premier, only Hereford & Dulwich have higher average home attendances. When including National League (North) only Stockport, York, FC United of Manchester, Salford, Kidderminster & Darlington have higher average home attendances than ours. Prior to the new owner arriving in December 2016 the club were lucky to have attendances of 250+.

Last season Jake Robinson was the clubs record signing (35 goals) but a few weeks ago the club broke their record signing Dean Inman (£27,600) from Maidenhead. The club and owner continue to be very focused on community matters, supporting a number of local good causes.

There are a number of league games coming up, away Saturday 23/12 v Burgess Hill, home v Thurrock on the 26/12(Boxing Day 12midday) & 30/12 home to 2nd placed team Dulwich.

Everything is looking good for 2018 at 💙Billericay Town FC💙 I hope you have an enjoyable Christmas & best wishes for 2018. Hopefully in the new year I will have news of more excellent results and continuing progress for the club.
