Prokit UK Essex Olympian League – Saturday 9th December Preview

EOFL2

Prokit UK Essex Olympian League

May & Baker E.C. were humbled at Springfield last weekend and need to return to winning ways quickly now that that Springfield and Bishops Stortford Swifts are breathing down their necks. The Barking-based club travel to a Kelvedon Hatch outfit who sit eighth.

Last season’s Premier Division Champions Springfield travel to an out-of-sorts Basildon Town who have found the step up to the Premier Division a hard task; last season’s Division One Champions have garnered a solitary win and draw from their opening twelve league games. Having beaten the leaders last Saturday it is hard to see them not picking up the full point allocation against the bottom club this time around.

Third-placed Bishops Stortford Swifts travel to fourth-placed Harold Wood Athletic. The hosts have won twice and lost twice from their last four league games; made progress in the Essex Premier Cup and have also been humbled by Division One outfit Great Baddow in the Senior League Cup – it means they blow hot and cold on occasions. Swifts are in good form having won three and drawn one from their last five. If Swifts want to post a serious title candidacy then they have to win encounters such as these.

Saturday 9th December

Premier Division

Basildon Town v  Springfield

Catholic United v  Manford Way

Harold Wood Athletic v  Bishop’s Stortford Swifts

Kelvedon Hatch v May & Baker E.C.

Rayleigh Town v  Frenford

White Ensign v  Canning Town
