After a 1-1 draw at Leatherhead we were well beaten in the replay the following Thursday, a match televised live on BTSport. It wasn’t the result the club or fans wanted but fortunately following this defeat, only the second all season, the team have continued to progress well in other cup competitions as well as the league.

There have been wins against Heybridge in the League Cup and Hungerford in the FA Trophy. We have now been drawn at home to Havant (Conference South) in the 1st Round of the FA Trophy on the 16th December and on the 30/11 we are at home to Basildon in the Essex Senior Cup.

There have also been good league wins at Harlow & Kingstonian. In the next 8 days there are a further 3 league games planned starting tonight at Harrow, then home to Leiston on Saturday, then Merstham on Tuesday next week. During this same period Dulwich who are 9points ahead of us only have 1 league game so it’s a great opportunity to close the gap.

Paul Konchesky has left for the club, the reason given is he couldn’t be guaranteed a place every game. Glenn Tamplin stated he understands why players wanted to start every week and he wishes them all the best, but no player is guaranteed to play every game. Several new players have been signed during the past few weeks and all have settled well into the squad.

Glenn spoke with passion about his own commitment. He said that he needs help from the fans to take it further – he wants more people at games and wants the fans to bring more people to the games to support the club. There was a crowd of 3400 for the Leatherhead game, the ground capacity is currently 3800. We are currently averaging crowds of 1350 in the league so there is still a lot of work to be done to reach the 3000+ that Glenn wants. It’s been proved the support is there, the club & players want your support, they are playing exciting + entertaining football.

Last night the club held another ‘Fans Forum’ which was well supported + there were several speakers. Dan Groves (Chairman) stated ‘Dan Groves spoke about his current operational role at the club. He announced that half-season tickets will be available from 1st January and asked anyone interested to get in touch with the club as soon as possible. Prices will be adults £99, concessions £66 and children £33.’

Paul Webster introduced himself, talking about his own footballing background firstly as a Leyton Orient youth player. Paul is a former director of Chelmsford City FC but came to Billericay Town because of the vision that is being followed through at the moment. He explained his role is to make the club sustainable & self sufficient.

Apart from the cup game against Basildon on the 30/11 there are 2 important league games coming up, Saturday 2nd December v Leiston & Tuesday 5th December v Merstham, your support would be appreciated👍 We now have an ambitious club, fantastic facilities + great squad of players playing exciting & entertains football.💙Billericay Town FC💙 Need Big Crowds💙 Come and join us our our journey, the first target is promotion to National League(South)
