White Ensign’s interest in the Anagram Records Trophy was ended at Wormley Rovers. The Southend-based side ended up being beaten 4-1.
Senior League Cup
A Tom Prendergast brace plus a strike from Mark Nougher saw Bishops Stortford Swifts beat Catholic United 3-2. Mike Trenkel and Max Kent bagged the Catholic United replies. Another Southend-based club also were knocked out as Southend Sports were beaten at home by Newham United. The visitors won the game 2-1 with Ousman Ndure and Omar Jomanday providing the goals that did so.
Premier Division
May & Baker E.C. opened a four point lead on the top spot after a 4-0 win over Canning Town. Pat Elbi scored twice with Tom Harvey and James Barlow also scoring a goal apiece. Harold Wood Athletic are up to second after a 3-1 win at Frenford. Danny Gillard, Joe Stevens and Charlie Liddiard scored the Harold Wood goals with Luke Woodward notching for Frenford. Leigh Ramblers are edging themselves away from the drop zone after they took their unbeaten run to three games on Saturday. Bottom club Basildon Town provided the opposition and Leigh showed them no mercy as they went on to record a 7-1 win. Justin Hazell scored a hat-trick, with Tommy Hollingsworth scoring twice. Luke Read and Andrew Webster also scored in the rout. Joe Mayer fired Springfield into a first half lead via the penalty spot and then Lewis Batchford pulled off heroics as he saved a Mike Daniel penalty. However Daniels was not to be denied as he levelled up in the second half to snatch a point for Kelvedon Hatch in a 1-1 draw.
Division One
The top two both won, bagging a few goals in the process. Buckhurst Hill remain top of the table after a 5-1 success at Old Chelmsfordians. Josh Addinall opened the account but Old Chelmsfordians were able to equalise before the break. Tyriq Soloman fired Buckhurst Hill back into the lead with a rocket of a shot that crashed into the top corner before further goals from Sam Sollosi, a second from Soloman and Josh Banfield sealed the victory. Jake Clarke, Reece Clarke, Bobbie Port and Danny Downer scored the Sungate goals in a 4-2 win at Galleywood. The hosts, who scored via Sam Donn and Matthew Buckingham remain in the relegation zone after this result. FC Hamlets scored five at Newbury Forest with John Gilroy, Charlie Heatley, Lawrence With, Ishmael Carter and Tyler Ishmael-Sanago all putting their names on the score sheet. Adam Hunt scored the Newbury forest consolation. Hutton also won at a canter as they beat Shenfield AFC 4-0. Dan Carpenter (2), Brad Freeman and Josh Bardouleau were the marksmen. Mitchell Collymore scored twice in Snaresbrook’s 3-1 win over Old Southendian. Daniel Tesfay scored the other goal with Reece Brandon providing the Old Southendian goal.
Division Two
Leaders Herongate Athletic chalked up a 5-0 win over Benfleet as Glen Jordan, Chris Carr, Carey Wallace, Ben Lambert and Lee Atkinson all bagging goals. Ongar Town meanwhile returned to winning ways after losing their last two league games. A Lee Perry brace alongside a Sean Green goal secured a 3-1 victory over A1 Sports who scored their reply via Aron Hanks. The bottom four all had games against each other with Upminster and Toby getting the much needed points. Upminster faced bottom club Ryan and registered a 6-1 victory with James Lakey scoring four times and his accomplice, Warren Tyler, bagging two. Toby meanwhile started the day in the drop zone but ended up moving up to ninth after a 3-1 win over Rochford Town. Richie Harvey, Simon Bamidele and Junior Bammeke scored a goal apiece, cancelling out Brad Cundy’s effort for Rochford Town who now drop into the relegation zone themselves. Ryan Leddra and Jamie Auvache were the Ramsden Scotia marksmen in a 2-0 away win over Rayleigh Town Res.
Division Three
Leigh Town move to the top of the table after a 1-1 draw with Roydon. David Milton scored the Leigh goal, Carl Gregory scored the Roydon one. Manford Way Res. move up to second after a 3-2 win over Hutton Res. Joey Couglin scored twice alongside Louis Winter to secure the points, cancelling out the Hutton goals scored by Ben Trigg and Keelan O’Donovan. White Ensign Res. started the day leading the division but are now down to third after a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Shoebury Town. Dom Binns, Ben Rowe and Aaron Clark scored the Shoebury goals with Charlie Edwards notching the White Ensign reply. Sam Bissue scored twice in Harold Wood Res’s. 4-2 win over Frenford Res. Mike Burton and Tom Lamb supplied the other goals with Frenford scoring their goals via Jack Darby and Sean Cull. William Osmond scored twice for Debden Sports who shared a point with Old Chelmsfordians Res. in a 2-2 draw. Max Green and Elliot Walker were the Old Chelmsfordians scorers. Beacon Hill Rovers smashed nineteen goals without reply at bottom-placed Leytonstone United. James Wilshere and Ren Bearman both rifled home five goals each; Tyson Browning supplied a hat-trick; Troy Hawthorne and Tony Hudson scored twice with Ben Collins also chipping in.
