And sticking to growth of a different kind, in the second hour of today’s show, we heard about the award-winning vegetable grower, John Handrahan-Cook, who was mightily surprised when his house was raided and thoroughly searched by terror police.

Apparently alarm bells started ringing as a result of his bulk buying of explosive fertilisers and other materials he uses to grow his giant carrots, parsnips, 70 lb marrows and 29 inch long runner beans.

Heaven alone knows what they taste like but his purchases certainly left the security services with a nasty taste in their mouths!
