Tonight I chatted to the one and only Frank Turner on the phone. Originally finding fame as frontman with Million Dead, Frank has released six solo albums since going solo in 2006, and his currently working on his seventh – but not before releasing a new compilation, Songbook, on November 24th. As well as tracks from his solo career, the compilation features new track There She Is alongside new recordings of older tracks. Click at … to hear him chatting about all that alongside memories of his 2000th gig, and when we first met a decade ago when he was an opening act at Chinnery’s! I also chatted to Bristol singer-songwriter Danny McMahon on the phone. Recognisable to Curveballs listeners as the singer of synth-pop trio Phoenix Club, Danny spoke to us just ahead of his country & western-themed debut solo EP, Making Memories, out on November 17th, and his latest solo gig at Brentwood’s Essex Arms the following day. Find Danny on Facebook and Twitter. (Go to 08:18 to listen to interview)

Finally I was joined in the studio by Southend metal quintet Forged In Black. Having come a long way since their beginnings as Merciless Fail, Forged In Black have had a busy few months with the release of their latest EP Sinner Sanctorum and alongside gigging, have already begun work writing a full-length album for next year. Click above to hear them chatting about their sound progression from their early days, working with a famous producer in the metal world and how they were going to feature a cover version on the new EP but ended up with a hefty epic of their own… Find them at (Go to 59:25 to listen to interview)
