Essex Senior League
Redbridge’s midweek win over Clapton moved them to the top of the table and they have a chance to extend their league on Friday evening when they host West Essex. The visitors could cause the Motormen some problems as they do have the ability to score goals and Redbridge have only kept one clean sheet all season. However the hosts do have Brian Moses and Calvin Poku who have both been scoring freely and the recent addition of Martin Tuohy from AFC Hornchurch also bolsters the Motormen’s attack. Should Redbridge win then they will open a 5 point lead at the top.
However Basildon United then play on Saturday and they will need a win to either keep the pressure on Redbridge or else propel themselves back to the top spot should Redbridge have been victorious on Friday evening. Ilford provide the oppoisition who will be bolstered by their midweek win over Hullbridge Sports. When the two teams met recently in the BBC Essex Senior Cup the result was a home win for the Bees and they could repeat that result this time around in the league engagement.
Takeley sit third and travel to Sawbridgeworth Town , while fourth play fifth-placed FC Romania entertain fourth-placed Clapton.
