Wadham Lodge 2 Ilford 0
Lodge ended Ilford’s unbeaten run with an impressive home win over them at Kitchener Road in Walthamstow on Friday night. Dwayde James opened the scoring in the 9th minute with Sherwin Stanley supplying the other goal in the second half. The win takes Lodge into double figures in points and although they remain bottom they are now in touching distance of the teams above them. Ilford stay ninth following this defeat.
Basildon United 4 Burnham Ramblers 0
The Bees remain second and two points behind leaders Takeley after thrashing Burnham Ramblers at The Hive. Skipper Tom Barton gave the hosts a 14th minute lead before Luke Hornsley doubled their advantage three minutes later. Two minutes into the second period Hornsley netted again and it was four on 55 minutes through Daniel Dafter. Ramblers’ three match winning streak comes to an end and they remain in 16th place.
Clapton 1 Tower Hamlets 0
The Tons netted an 82nd minute winner to settle a very tight game against Tower Hamlets at The Old Spotted Dog. Both sides also ended the game with ten men but Clapton’s win sees them in sixth whilst Hamlets are now down a place into eighth.
Enfield 1893 1 Great Wakering Rovers 7
Rovers put in a clinical performance to demolish Enfield at The Harlow Arena. The visitors took the lead on four minutes when a Jake Gordon free kick flew past Corderoy from twenty-five yards and it was two on six minutes when Billy Johnson had a simple finish after a swift counter attack. It became was three in the 17th minute when Neil Richmond got into the box before cutting inside and slotting inside the near post, t before a fourth came midway through the half when keeper Corderoy was lobbed from distance by Aaron Russell. Rovers made it five with nine minutes of the first half remaining when Russell was allowed time inside the box to fire in via a deflection past Corderoy. The sixth didn’t arrive until fifteen minutes from time when Gordon converted from the spot after Corderoy was judged to have brought the forward down, and it was seven with thirteen minutes left when a Jay Nash corner went straight in. Joe Johnson did manage a consolation with two minutes to go but this was a day to forget for the hosts who stay fifth bottom.
Southend Manor 0 Hackney Wick 3
Wick stunned Manor at Southchurch Park to grab only their fourth win of the season. Ibrahim Camara put the visitors ahead midway through the first half before Jeffrey Idemudia doubled their lead seven minutes before half time. Jake Casey sealed Wick’s victory with a third goal two minutes from time.
Sporting Bengal United 2 FC Romania 6
FCR hit six at Mile End and pile on more misery for the hosts who have now lost seven games in a row as they drop to thirteenth place whilst FCR remain in fourth after their ninth win of the campaign. Florin Pop laid down a hat trick with Mihai Dinu, Cosmin Anton and George Taban also getting on the score sheet. David Vaughan scored both the Sporting Bengal replies.
Stansted 0 Redbridge 2
The Motormen stay third after a hard fought win over Stansted at Hargrave Park. The visitors took the lead three minutes before half time through a Hutchinson strike from the edge of the box. Josh Hutchinson then netted with eight minutes remaining when he slotted beyond keeper Pitman and sealed the points for the visitors.
Takeley 2 Hullbridge Sports 0
Two second half goals saw Takeley to another league win, this time against Hullbridge Sports, to maintain their two point lead at the top. The opening goal didn’t arrive until the 68th minute when Jason Todd poked home from a yard out and then six minutes later the hosts sealed the win when a quick break after a Hullbridge free kick ended with Todd making no mistake to score his second of the game.
