Prokit UK Essex Olympian League – Saturday 7th October Preview

EOFL2

Prokit UK Essex Olympian League

With the 2nd Round of the Senior League Cup kicking off means that there is only one Premier Division game but it has major significance. May & Baker E.C. will be looking to take the opportunity to extend their lead on the table over Rayleigh Town. Home advantage against the team currently bottom makes it hard to tip against the Barking-based club.

Basildon Town begin their defence of the Senior League Cup with a home tie against Newham United from Division Two.

Buckhurst Hill were relegated from the Premier Division last term but have a chance to test their current mettle against Frenford who currently sit fourth in the Premier Division table. Buckhurst Hill are looking to make an immediate return and have made a good start to their league campaign and will be up for this one – it’s a potential banana skin for Frenford who are the away side in this match-up.

Kelvedon Hatch finally picked up their first league win last Saturday and welcome Snaresbrook from Division One to New Hall.  There’s an all-Premier match-up between Canning Town and White Ensign; Springfield start their Senior League Cup campaign with a home tie with Old Southendian; while Catholic United take on Epping. The visitors sit second in Division Four and if they were to win this one it would cause waves in the Olympian League. It’s a tough ask and Catholic United have to be considered the heavy favourites in this one. Manford Way put aside Premier Division business to take on Dagenham United. The visitors operate in Division Five and it would be a major shock if they were able to beat Manford Way on their own patch.

Harold Wood Athletic welcome Galleywood from Division One. With one win from four league games the visitors have to put that to one side and take on a Harold Wood team that sit third in the Premier Division.
