Lakeside Speedway – HAMMERS NEED SHOW OF FANS

Arena Essex

The latest from the Lakeside Speedway Press Office…

LAKESIDE HAMMERS bosses are urging fans to pack the Arena Essex Raceway on Friday – to show them they can sustain a return to the highest level.

Co-promoter Jon Cook is on record saying the only way forward for the Vortex Hammers is to head back to the Premiership as fans have turned their back on National League action.

Now they have the chance to show their support in the play-off semi-final 1st leg with Belle Vue on Friday (8pm).

“It’s a massive night for the club,” said Cook. “We are planning to return to the Premiership next season and we need our fans to show their support for the club in this meeting.

“I understand quite a few of our supporters have turned their back on the NL and, whilst disappointing, it’s their decision and it’s sent a clear message to us.

“Our priority is to build up a handy lead from this meeting to take to Manchester next week for the return and I’m confident with the backing of a big crowd we can achieve that.”
