Prokit UK Essex Olympian League – Saturday 16th September Round-Up

EOFL2

Premier Division

Manford Way moved to the top of the Premier Division after they brushed aside Rayleigh Town 4-1 at the London Marathon Playing Fields. Sam Coe and Reece Tranter scored two apiece with the visitors scoring their goal via Justin Hazell.

Harold Wood Athletic also hit the target four times against Canning Town that now moves them up to second. Chris Liddiard bagged a hat-trick with Rob Whitnell supplying the other goal in the 4-0 victory.

Springfield were gifted an own goal by Kelvedon Hatch with Joe Mayer scoring the other Springfield goal. However the defending champions were held to a 2-2 draw as Mike Daniels scoring twice to secure a point. The result means Kelvedon Hatch have yet to post a win on the board but have managed to move a little further away from the relegation zone as Leigh Ramblers lost 3-1 at White Ensign. Connor Barnby opened the White Ensign account, with Liam Sewell being on hand to score the other two. Justin Hazell scored the Leigh consolation and the result leaves them at the foot of the table.

May & Baker E.C. raced into a 3-0 lead, which they took into half-time and then added a further goal in the second period to overcome Basildon Town 4-0. Jamie Reddington (2), Conor Okus and Daniel Alexander were the target men. Arron Scott meanwhile provided the only goal in the Bishops Stortford Swifts v Frenford encounter, meaning that Frenford were able to eke out a slender 1-0 away win.
