Having come off the back of 6-1 and 5-0 wins, Billericay Town started as firm favourites and dominated the early exchanges. Cunnington’s early strike was saved by Didcot’s experienced keeper Leigh Bedwell. Robinson then had an effort saved and from the resulting corner Swaine headed onto the crossbar.

Didcot had a few chances in the first half too, with George Reid’s powerful strike their best effort.

Robinson, Bricknell and Waldren all had chances before Robinson broke the deadline on 40 minutes with a deft touch from Evans’ cross.

Manager Glenn Tamplin made two changes at half time with Ricky Modeste and Louie Theophanous coming on for Evans and Pennant.

Billericay continued their dominance in the second half with a number of early chances for Cunnington including a disallowed effort before Robinson doubled the lead on 67 minutes with a cool converstion from Modeste’s cross.

Jeremy Lynch made his debut for the Blues after this, coming on for Billy Bricknell and was soon in the thick of the action, helping to snuff out a rare Didcot attack.

Two goals in two minutes then killed off the tie. First Modeste converted a great cross from Urquhart and then Robinson completed his hat-trick with a beautiful lob over Bedwell.

Cunnington finished the scoring in the 88th minute with a well-taken penalty after Lynch was fouled in the box.

The Blues will be back in action next Saturday at 3pm with a Bostik League home tie against Leatherhead.
