Moyo’s the Man for Leopards

Kevin Moyo

Dave Ryan reports…

Levett Essex Leopards have added to their options at the guard positions with the signing of former London Lion Kevin Moyo.

The 23-year-old joins after a season with the capital club, and coach Thomas Baker is delighted to add him to his roster: “Signing a player of Kevin’s ability and experience is a real statement of intent” he beamed.

“This signing has not just this season in mind but future seasons also. From the very first time I met Kevin I could see he had a special talent and his ability speaks volumes.

“Kevin is someone who will help raise the profile of the Leopards franchise both on and off the court with his willingness to get involved and promote the Leopards name in the community.

We are getting a leader and a true professional in Kevin. He is an amazing athlete who will help us on so many levels.”

“Already from the conversations I have had with Kevin I can see he is locked in and ready to go and in invested in the season ahead. This journey we are going on is going to be an exciting one and I am thrilled to be able to add Kevin to the team, it definitely puts us where we want to be heading into next season.”

Moyo is thrilled to be joining the Big Cats: “I’m excited to be part of the Leopards, it’s been a long time coming but we’ve finally come to an agreement to do something special! I know I’m going to leave everything on the court and I know management and coaching staff are ready to do the same off court and together we can come together to create a dynasty!”

Fans of the Big Cats will get the chance to Moyo and his new team-mate in action when they open their pre-season campaign in early September. Baker’s side host the touring American side at Oaklands College on Friday night (7.30pm) before the teams meet at the Brentwood Centre on Sunday September 3 (4.00pm). Tickets are available through the website or on the door, and there are a few places left on the pre-game camp which can be booked through www.leopardsbasketball.co.uk.
