Essex Senior League Preview
Saturday 12th August
Takeley and FC Romania have both picked up maximum points from their opening two league fixtures and on Saturday they both will be looking to make sure home advantage counts as they look to continue their winning runs. Takeley entertain Redbridge, who have shown themselves resilient as they have come from behind in both their opening two games, before going on to register a win and a draw. FC Romania host a Burnham Ramblers side who are currently pointless from their opening two, which has seen them slide towards the bottom end of the table. Bottom club Wadham Lodge return to league action after their debut FA Cup entrance ended in a 3-1 defeat in midweek. They play a Basildon United side who won their FA Cup replay 3-0 in midweek and who have already shown some firepower in their frontline. West Essex and Hackney Wick have both made solid starts and they are both on the road on Saturday. West Essex travel to Waltham Forest, hoping to catch the young side on an off-day, like when they lost 4-1 at Takeley and not the team that has come back from behind to draw their other two league and FA Cup fixtures. Hackney Wick meanwhile cross the border into Hertfordshire to play a Sawbridgeworth Town side that have picked up a point from their opening two games.
