Tonight’s album of the week is the “comeback” album from Ride – and what a comeback!

Ride - Weather Diaries

Weather Diaries is the Oxford band’s first album since returning from their 20-odd-year hiatus. Produced by Erol Alkan, it’s the sound of a band utterly in their prime – Charm Assault is a great single and the rest of the album is full of songs that are quickly going to become Ride staples such as Cali and Lannoy Point. Out now and as we speak, heading towards the UK top 20 albums too (new chart is released on Friday).

Tonight’s playlist:

LCD Soundsystem – Call The Police
Ride – Charm Assault
Scarletts – In The Mirror
Jane Weaver – Loops In The Secret Society
Popguns – Sugar Kisses
Big Moon – Cupid
Wolf Alice – Yuk Foo
British Sea Power – Praise For Whatever
Darling Buds – Complicated
Oblong – 50 Miles On Empty
Ride – Lannoy Point
Heart Throbs – In Vain
B-52’s – Junebug
They Might Be Giants – Particle Man
Garbanotas Bosistas – Places, Planes and Trains
Horse Party – Paydirt
Killatrix – Overcome
Thousand Yard Stare – Action Stations
Temples – Oh The Saviour
Ride – Cali
Flatmates – Don’t Say If
Trusted – Sunlight
Bleech – Weirdo
Thomas Tantrum – Sleep
Carter The Unstoppable Sex Machine – Twenty Four Minutes From Tulse Hill
Young Knives – Green Island Red Raw
New Fast Automatic Daffodils – Big
