Billericay Blog: so much work has taken place

Anyone who hasn’t seen the ground since the end of last season won’t recognise it. So much work has taken place, new stands, new facilities and new grass pitch, Glenn Tamplin has done everything possible within the guidelines set for possible future development. Those facilities will I believe include a sweet shop, a new club shop, two inside bars and 6 outside bars.

The new players have been signed and together with those retained players ensures the club have an experienced and talented squad, a squad capable of winning the Ryman League. Training will commence soon and everything is targeted towards winning the league.

The first home fixture is a friendly on 29th July v Leyton Orient, a date for your diary to come along and see for yourselves what has happened at the club. This is followed by a friendly against a West Ham XI in early August. Tickets are available for both these games as big crowds are expected to attend. The league season starts on Saturday 12th August and fixtures for the season will be available on the 15th July.

Without doubt it’s going to be an exciting season following the team. The last home match attracted an attendance of 1,970 and the facilities now available can cope with a lot more than that. It would be brilliant if we could smash one of the league’s biggest attendance at Havant which was 3,455.
