Richard Digance in Interview & See him live this Sunday 23rd April at the Queens Theatre!

Richard Digance

“I googled you (Phoenix FM) and saw you did the sessions (music) which I think is absolutely fantastic because community radio for that reason is very very important” Richard Digance

What you doing Sunday evening, the 23rd April at 7.30pm? Well if you fancy a good laugh and an enjoyable evening get down to the Queens Theatre Hornchurch because Richard Digance will be live on stage with The 2017 Golden Anniversary Tour

Its all about being in the right place at the right time and obviously having masses of talent… this is just a snippet of the start of Richard’s career.

Hear how Billy Connolly got him into comedy at college and how sharing a flat with the legendary guitarist John Martin made learning the guitar that much easier!

He then came back to Essex and got a job at Old Church Hospital (developing x-rays). The head of the radiography was Jazz Summer who also shared a flat with Richard. Jazz in his spare time worked as a promoter and was putting together a band called WHAM and subsequently went on to manage the Scissor Sisters, The Verse and Snow Patrol said “I’ll manage you” the rest as they say is history.

He has also worked with Steve Martin and Robin Williams and of course the many years spent on Count Down plus so much more, its all here…… have a listen.

INTERVIEW

Last time I interviewed Richard Digance I ended up replaying the interview to my Mum and friends, who said “what an interesting life “he’s so funny, isn’t he clever, he’s done so much”. We then ended up watching an hour and a half worth of You Tube Videos of Richard’s performances and sat there laughing along. However, like music, nothing beats seeing someone live on stage.

We had a few technical issues at the start of the interview which meant I called Richard three times (not like a mystery caller or anything). The interview jumps straight in due to me editing out the previous chatter. Forgive me!
