As today was the last Friday of the month, the playlist was made up of the Number 1’s, new entries and popular songs of January 2017.
With Clean Bandit’s Rockabye making Christmas Number 1, it stayed there for the first week of January before getting knocked off the top spot by one of Ed Sheeran’s surprise singles. The other single follows close behind at number 2 meaning Shape of You and Castle On The Hill have been top of the charts for 3 weeks running.
The Chainsmokers’ track Paris was a new entry for January and jumped straight into the top ten and it is now making it’s way closer to number 1. Touch by Little Mix has also gained more popularity over the month, it entered the charts at number 23 back in December but has now manged to get into the top 5!
