Scott W reports with a round-up of all of today’s results (Jan 21st ‘17) from the local sides we look out for on Phoenix Sport, from West Ham Utd all the way to Bowers & Pitsea & Brentwood Town. How did your team do today?

Today’s action was heavily affected by the frosty weather of the last few days.

Middlesborough 1   –  3 West Ham Utd        (Premier League)

The Hammers picked up another important win, this time against ‘Boro at the Riverside Stadium. A first-half brace from in-form Andy Carroll put Slaven Bilic’s side ahead twice, after Cristhian Stuani had levelled for the home side. A late Jonathan Calleri goal sealed the points. ‘Boro sit 16th after this defeat, four points ahead of the bottom three, whilst the Hammers have now won five of their last seven league matches, and rise to 10th place.

Huddersfield Town 2  –  0  Ipswich Town    (EFL Championship)

David Wagner’s side defeated the Tractor Boys at the Galpharm Stadium. Goals from Izzy Brown & Chris Schindler either side of the break got the win against Mick McCarthy’s side. The Terriers rise to 3rd place having lost only one of their last eight league matches now. Ipswich remain 14th.

Southend Utd  P – P  Bolton Wanderers    (EFL League One)

This game was postponed due to a frozen pitch.

Leyton Orient  P  –  P Morecambe   (EFL League Two)

In-form Fleet defeated the Clarets at fortress Stonebridge Road. Ex-Claret Kenny Clark put the hosts in-front just before the break. Substitute Bradley Bubb sealed the win late on for Daryl McMahon’s men. Ebbsfleet remain 2nd, five points behind leaders Maidenhead Utd. Chelmsford remain 5th, inside the play-off positions on goal difference.

Tony Ievoli’s men produced a stirring comeback late on to deny in-form Brightlingsea at North Road. Josh Gould put Regent ahead just 12 minutes in, Leon Gordon levelled for the Blues midway through the first-half. Ex-Blue Tom Richardson put James Webster’s side back ahead soon after. Though late on, Andy Freeman sealed a point for his side. Regent stay 3rd. Brentwood stay 22nd, two points from safety.

Maldon & Tiptree  2  – 0   Great Wakering Rovers     (Ryman Division North)

The Jammers got the win against struggling Wakering at the Wallace Binder Stadium. First-half goals from hot-shot Liam Nash and Eoin McKeown ensured the league leaders triumphed again, their 5th league win in a row. Maldon are top, nine points clear now though Thurrock & Brightlingsea have at least one game in hand on them. Wakering slip to the foot of the table, eight points from safety.
