Corrie Castlman joined us tonight to talk about her trip, dressed as a Grease-style Pink Lady with four friends in a £500 Vauxhall Astra from St. Austell Cornwall to Vegas in Spain. www.bangerrallychallenge.co.uk She herself could not decided if the trip was brave or madness. Jonty interviewed her as she told us there would be 150 cars taking part. She will be raising money for a Fostering Network that raises funds to lobby government for better training and support for those involved in fostering. This can be supported through the Just Giving page “Corries Pink ladies banger race” Any donation, big or small, will help. She also told us about her work with families and that there are 1,100 children in Essex in care. There is a shortage of those willing to foster.
We looked at the news story relating to the company Iceland possibly being sued by the country Iceland for trading under the name. The company have been trading for forty five years and even have stores in the country, We also continued the debate about albums and the latest story saying playlists are more popular than albums. Listeners thought this was sad. I commented how great it is to listen to an album for about 40+ minutes from one artist. Jonty said he had never listened in this way. Chris emailed in to say she had just bought a deck and had started buying vinyl again.
