Gwyneth Paltrow, The Sting and The Whale Vomit…

It was one of those shows today where the music seemed to take over and have a life of it’s own. A mix of current tracks and oldies that all seemed to be mean’t for each other and complimented each other. I’d like to take credit for that but it just seemed to happen!
I did find time though for a couple of stories…
Gwyneth Paltrow’s latest beauty tip is Apitherapy.

If you’re not sure what apitherapy is, the clue is in the picture. Apitherapy is used to get rid of inflammation and scarring. It involves angering bees so that they sting a person on the affected area of the body.

Sounds to me that a sting of a different kind is at work here. Possibly from her beauty therapist.

Then there was the couple who found a large smelly lump of something on a beach. It turned out to be a piece of ambergris – or ‘whale vomit’ – which is used in perfume making – potentially worth a whopping £50,000.

The couple are now in negotiations with potential buyers over the recently-found lump, which is slightly smaller than a rugby ball

Right, I’m off for a bit of beach combing!
