It was great to welcome Paul back to the studio this evening. Tonight he brought us some very thoughtful words about solitude. He introduced us to the general idea of solitude and said we might be surprised by the real meaning. He said that those little moments during any day when we took a break from all the busyness around us and we thought about the big questions of life could be seen as solitude. He took this further by looking at ways that each of us could take steps towards appreciating that sense of peace that can lead to inner peace. He invited us to consider how this re-emphasis on the priorities of life could lead to positive fruits within our own lives, which would bring with it well-being. Listeners responded very positively to the words he spoke, even those like Lee and Chris, working as they were listening. He stayed to bring us some of the more unusual stories of the week. This included people in China breaking into a prison compound in order to photograph the blossom on Cherry trees. A Japanese firm has released collectors cards of manhole covers. However they are much more decorative than covers we see in the U.K. It still sounded an odd item to collect. In music news, Stevie Wonder will be playing one show in Hyde Park in July playing his classic album Songs in the Key of Life live. That will be some concert.
