I’m over the moon to finally be able to bring you the chat I had with Jasmine Power!
“Stories & Rhymes” is the soulful eponymous cut from her debut EP released at the tail end of 2015. Featuring some of the most respected names in UK jazz at the moment, the four track Vinyl release (digital release planned for Spring 2016) quickly caught the attention of Giles Peterson and Jamie Cullum and you can hear why in tracks such as “Modern Century Stage”, a glistening observation on our technology obsessed culture and “Late Hours” which combines Jasmine’s rich vocal on top of a beat which showcases drummer Moses Boyd’s laid back hip-hop infused style at it’s best! Jasmine is acerbic and interesting as her music, we chatted about growing up in Pembrokeshire, South West Wales where her mother ran jazz music festival, singing every day at school and how she came to record her stunning new EP. Enjoy!
“Stories & Rhymes”, the four-track vinyl EP, is available to order now and you can check out the video for the single here.
