Friday Night Extra 11.3.16 with guests Finley, Madeline, Charlie & Sophie-Rose from Ingatestone C of E Junior School

IMG_1262We had a really packed show this evening. In the first hour Jonty and I were joined by four pupils from Ingatestone C. of E. Juniors. They were amazingly confident in the studio and listeners found it hard to believe they were just eight and nine years of age.
Finley talked about Youtube and the diverse mixture of items you can watch on the website. Madeline thinks that Ingatestone is a great place to live and talked about all the different activities that she undertakes. She said that she particularly enjoys playing tennis. Charlie Watson plays football and supports West Ham. He had been to a recent match against Sunderland and told us about the day. He also said how inspiring he found the experience. Sophie-Rose loves street dancing and goes to lessons in Basildon. She said the world would be a better place if everyone learnt to dance. We also had parents and other family members in the studio and everyone was very impressed with the children. It was suggested they might want my job!
Musically we listened to some of the legacy of record producer George Martin, deliberately avoiding the well know Beatles tracks that everyone has been playing. There were a number of requests tonight, and the playlist was a eclectic as ever. Jonty told us about his playing Puck at Brentwood School last week. He also shared some odd news stories.

Tonight’s playlist. Tracks marked GM were produced by George Martin.
