I’m a self-confessed fan of Stereolab, who not only produced great music in the 1990s and 2000s but lots of them too – 20 albums between 1992 and 2006.
The band are now on permanent hiatus but it’s not all bad news for fans of the band, as lead singer Laetitia Sadier is still writing and recoring new material – three albums with her solo project Monade and three under her own name, the most recent of which was 2014’s Something Shines.
After a fantastic set in the summer rain we had a chat about her writing and recording processes, how her music has improved by ironing out bad habits, touring America and the connection between Stereolab’s music and hip hop!
You can stay up to date with the latest news on Laetitia’s music on her official website, Facebook and Twitter pages.
