First up for tonight’s Christmas Special, we heard about the upcoming Christmas comedown gig taking place at Billericay Town Football Club on December 27th. Organiser Ian Parkins joined us to discuss the show alongside Jamie and Hannah from Scarlet Echo, one of the bands who’ll be playing alongside The Theme and The Tuts. Then we welcomed back, as is traditional for the Christmas Special, Lady Grey & The Earls (l-r Paul, Graham, Amy, Justin) – their 10th Curveballs appearance, no less! Since they last joined us a year ago, the foursome have recorded a new album, which is currently being mastered. We were treated to a few tracks tonight ahead of its release next year, which is also when they’ll be making a return to the live scene, with a set at Brentwood’s Essex Arms on January 17th followed by an appearance on our own Phoenix Fridays bill at Old Brentwoods on February 27th.
