Ryman League North: Brentwood Town 3 Great Wakering Rovers 0

Brentwood Town extend their unbeaten league run to six as they swept aside Great Wakering Rovers with a 3-0 victory at the Brentwood Arena.

Robbie Rees grabbed a brace, one from a free-kick and the other with a deflected shot on the edge of the box.

In between Rees’s goals was a quality drilled free-kick by Sam Bantick as Brentwood move up to third.

Brentwood took the lead with their first shot on target as a Rees free-kick was clipped in to Ryan O’Rawe who missed the header but caught Adam Seal off guard and crept in.

“The Blues” almost doubled their lead down the left flank as Bantick squared the ball across goal came to Mcfarlane, who burst in the box and fired his shot over.

Great Wakering nearly equalised just before half-time as Liam Nash was slotted in over the far side but his shot was blocked by Ollie Bowles.

Brentwood doubled their lead seven minutes into the second half after a sweetly struck free-kick by Bantick was arrowed into the near post.

Wakering nearly got back in the game as the ball fell to Jay Nash at the far post and his header was superbly saved by Bowles.

Brentwood sealed the three points seven minutes from time as Rees picked up the ball on the edge of the box and his deflected shot found the bottom corner.
