Band Aid 30

With the news of this year’s charity single ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas?’ being recorded at the weekend, I played some tracks by the artists who have been said to be contributing.

These included:
Sam Smith
One Direction
Ed Sheeran
Olly Murs
Paloma Faith
Ellie Goulding
Bastille
Elbow
Bono (U2)
Chris Martin (Coldplay)
Jessie Ware
Emeli Sande

Sir Bob Geldof and Midge Ure are the master minds behind the song which was originally release in 1984 selling 3.7 million copies and raised £8m for famine relief in Ethiopia. Since then it has re recorded with different artists in 1989, and 2004.

This year the lyrics will be changed to reflect the Ebola crisis which the song will be raising money for.
Band Aid 30 will be recorded this Saturday (tomorrow) and should be available for download on Monday 17th November. The download will cost 99p, while the CD single will retail for £4 and will be available in three weeks time.
