After a week of celebrating my birthday by sunning myself in Tenerife, it’s back to cold old England, but with last night being bonfire night we took a look at a few facts about the man who’s exploits we celebrated last night – GUY FAWKES – that might have escaped your attention. Did you know, for instance, that he was not the ringleader in the Gunpowder Plot – that was actually Robert Catesby, but it was poor old Guy who was caught at the scene and suffered two days of torture before confessing all? They didn’t have too many qualms about human rights back in 1605!
We also heard about the woman who mistook her local jail for a bar. Pity that since as she was already twice over the legal drink drive 
level, she was given an especially warm welcome.
Right I’ll see you again next week. Enjoy your firework parties at the weekend but spare a thought for the “guys” who’s exploits we celebrate each year.
