This week’s episode was a celebration of Mick McCarthy.
McCarthy has just reached two years and 100 games in charge at Ipswich Town, winning 40% of those in charge.
This exceeds the win percentages of the last three managers, Jim Magilton (38%), Roy Keane (35%) and Paul Jewell (35%) and he has the honour of being the first manager to reach two years under owner Marcus Evans.
McCarthy has performed admirably in his two years in charge, taking over Ipswich bottom of the Championship and steering them to safety in his first season and narrowly missing out on the playoffs last year. This season, he could go one better.
Joining me in the Midweek Matchzone melting pot was breakfast cereal botherer Joe Box who gave his thoughts on this god among men.
