This week I switched the entertainment news up a bit, in favour of a more cinematic approach. Gone Girl is a psychological thriller which takes you on a journey following Nick and Amy, and the secret behind a ‘perfect’ marriage. When Amy goes missing one day, Nick is forced into the media at break neck speed, and both individually and as a couple they are scrutinised within an inch of their lives. The film perfectly depicts the nature of modern media culture and how if deals with crisis. The film is 2 and half hours of pure genius and I challenge anyone to suggest otherwise.
