Christmas is Coming…

On today’s show our thoughts went out to Australian golfer Greg Norman…

Greg Norman

Greg Norman

Last week, he posted a picture of himself using a chainsaw to trim a plant.
He wrote alongside it: “Never ask someone to do something that you can do yourself. Love to work!”
Well he has now said he is “lucky” to still have his left hand after the two-time major winner had an accident with the chainsaw.
I’m glad to say that Greg is expected to make a full recovery, but I wonder if he made the cut…

And Christmas is coming…

IT is just under 100 days until Christmas, but the borough council is already planning how the town will celebrate this year’s festivities.

The Lighting Up Brentwood event will take place between midday and 6pm in Brentwood High Street on Saturday, November 29 with Phoenix FM hosting the main stage again this year.

There will be entertainment throughout the day and market-style stalls in the High Street and Crown Street offering local produce and gifts.

The borough council is on the look-out for stallholders, sponsors and volunteer stewards.

The following day will see the Lighting Up Shenfield event between 2pm and 5pm.

There will be enhanced Christmas lights as well as rides and activities for all the family.

Local performers and entertainers are required at both events.

To apply, call 01277 312500 and choose options 2 and 0, or email events@brentwood.gov.uk
