Tonight was a treat as I was joined in the studio by Richard Baker, Brain Lynn, Sam Adams and Nick Rayner who together make us Song Cycle. We heard four tacks from their CD produced by Jonathan Baker, including items recorded in Worcester Cathedral. They formed in 1996 following the founding members first combined entry in the “Friends of Essex Churches Sponsored Cycle Ride”. The idea was to sing a different four part motet in each church as they cycled. So far they have cycled 623 miles, visited 606 churches, sung 283 motets and raised £32,000. They have also helped raise thousands of pounds for other charities. This year’s cycle ride is next Saturday, 13th of September. More information is available on www.foect.org.uk/rideandstride
