facebook.com/GR80sRadioShow @Gr80sRadioShow

I asked “what did you do for the first time in the 80’s?” and I got LOTS of responses!
Thanks to everyone for your memories….
Nicola Heales: Went to my first concert when I was 15.

Lisa Ferriday: first concert – Thompson Twins at Wembley!
Lucy Astill: Bought a Rara skirt and first ever single! Abba – One of Us
Nina French: First love/first broken heart, and I won the English disco dance championships and a free holiday!
Nicky Hand: I had a perm and hi lights!
Antony Dangar: Disco skates – there I said it, oh the shame!
Ruth Tidmarsh: Met Xanthe Johnstone [yay, that from my old friend Ruth – before I married Mr Bearman!]
Charlie Cain: Danced to a lot of Simple Minds at parties…
Bernadette Newby: Had my mum change my sisters 70’s satin flares into the best Adam and the Ants pedal pushers!!
Alison Beniston: Went on a school exchange to Germany which then became my home. Bought my first drain pipe jeans and thought I was sooooo cool!
Karen Thorp: Started Musical Theatre; Half a Sixpence started rehearsing in November 1989!

At 7pm I featured Essex covers band The Specialists who started performing together 15 years ago. The band are completely versatile and offer 5 amazing lead vocalists, a repertoire of over 500 songs and the experience of over 1000 gigs in the last 5 years. I played their fabulous cover of Don’t Stop Believing. For more information, call The Band Boutique on 07912 424554 or email bandboutique@gmail.com
