On this weekend’s Between the Lines we brought the latest news from the 20th Commonwealth Games, in Glasgow. With England leading the medal table, very closely followed by Australia the host nation are currently enjoying their third position in the table. We brought news of further medals for England in the Mixed Triathlon, and the first gold medal for Wales in gymnastics.
For another weekend the grand prix qualifying was red-flagged during the session and Lewis Hamilton experienced reliability issues, this time with an engine fire in the first part of qualifying. Hamilton will be starting from the back of the grid and will need an engine and gearbox change.
We also had the local events updates and carried on playing the summer music for a hot Saturday afternoon.
