3.30am and many of the candidates, councillors and supporters crammed into the Phoenix FM studio to talk about the result and its implications for the people of Brentwood.

Alan Johnson and Mike Jones speak to Barry Aspinell, leader of the Liberal Democrats group at Brentwood Borough Council, John Newberry, who gained Brentwood West for the Liberal Democrats tonight; William Lloyd, leader of the Brentwood First group and Mike Le-Surf, leader of the Labour group. You can hear their views on working together in Brentwood and reaction to the UKIP gains throughout England, which were concentrated in Essex but not Brentwood.
